About NSI

National Strategies (NSI) is a state and local government consulting firm with two divisions that help organizations create opportunities and solve problems.

The first is NSI Government Markets, which focuses on sales, organizational development, business development and procurement related activities. This division has generated over $20 billion in new revenue for clients since the firm's inception in 1996.

The second is NSI Government Relations, which focuses on policy matters, including legislative and regulatory activities. NSI is experienced in waging multi-state, regional, and national legislative and regulatory campaigns, including outreach to public interest groups, ally development/coalition building and public affairs/communications activities to support the legislative and/or regulatory campaign.

NSI provides value with three key assets:

Industry Expertise:
Industry experts are at the core of our company. Our team knows your markets and state landscapes, understands the regulations and policies that have a direct influence on your business and has the ability to navigate the intricacies of various industries.

NSI’s platform has offerings across Government Markets and Government Relations integrated across seven practice areas:

National State and Local Network:
NSI has a nationwide network of over 2,500 consultants across the United States. This network covers each of the 50 states as well as the 100 largest cities and 100 largest counties across the country. These top state and local consultants provide our clients with on-the-ground relationships, real-time insight and a unique understanding of the dynamics and inner workings of government and state agencies.

NSI proactively and continually recruits the consultants in the network, and each selected consultant fits three key criteria: first, regardless of political changes, they must have strong relationships with the government decision makers and influencers in their relevant state or local government market. This includes both the executive and legislative branches. Second, they must be entrepreneurial in nature since NSI is ultimately judged by creating opportunities, revenue, and value and a return on our investment. The consultants must be able to open the doors of decision makers and influencers within their relevant state or local government market, but they must recognize that the door opening is just a small step in a larger strategic approach to achieving success. Third, they must adhere to strict ethics standards adopted by NSI.

Strategic Research:
NSI’s top strategists facilitate planning and visioning sessions for our clients, creating winning plans based on NSI’s experience and unique perspective that are tailored to meet each company’s individual needs and goals. This research team is able to provide NSI’s clients with real time procurement, legislative and regulatory information relevant to each specific sector, geographic market and project. The research team supports the efforts of the sector team and active consultants in targeted geographic markets.

Utilizing these three key assets, NSI provides a wide range of personalized services within each of our divisions.
