Albany, NY — March 3, 2009 — Today NSI’s New York team, The Walters Group, hosted a Stimulus Briefing in the State’s capitol to help business leaders understand the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and prepare their organizations for doing business with state and local government as the stimulus projects become funded.

“Business leaders want a tangible view of how the economic stimulus will impact private industry, specifically their organizations,” said Ruth Walters, President of The Walters Group, NSI. “We wanted to provide an open forum where business leaders had access to people that can shed light on how New York government operates and help them understand the steps for evaluating and preparing for potential private-public partnerships as it relates to the stimulus funding.”

Ruth Walters has dedicated several years inside New York State government as the leading former Assistant in the State Comptroller’s Office overseeing the State’s contracting process. Walters is joined by her colleagues, Art Brown, Vice-President of The Walters Group, NSI, Al Gordon, CEO of NSI, and Tim Onoff, President of NSI, who are also well versed on New York state and local government having previously served in executive level positions within New York. Mary Ann Crotty, President of Macro Associates and well known for her expertise in the areas of transportation also joined the panel of presenters to discuss the modernization of roads, bridges, transit and waterways, a large focus for the stimulus investment.
