Tallahassee, FL — June 26, 2008 — NSI, a Washington, D.C. based government and business consulting firm, announced today the appointment of Robert Beck, former Budget Director for the state of Florida, as Vice President of its Florida office.
“As a well-respected and knowledgeable leader in Florida’s government, Robert will reinforce NSI’s standing as the top firm for helping clients with every phase of the legislative, regulatory and procurement process,” said Tim Onoff, President of NSI. “His insight into the nuances of government and business is a distinct advantage for our clients.” Most recently, Beck served as Budget Director for the Office of Policy and Budget for Governor Charlie Crist. Beck’s legislative experience includes serving as Policy Advisor on Appropriations to the Florida Senate President as well as Staff Director for the Senate Public Safety and Judiciary Appropriations Committee. His in-depth knowledge in contract management and procurement led to key roles including Director for the Division of Contracts and Financial Management with the Department of Elder Affairs, Budget Director for the Department of Children and Families, and Procurement Manager while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. In addition to his public service posts, Robert held management positions with KPMG and BearingPoint.
“NSI is a one-stop shop where we can address all of our clients’ needs from appropriations and policy to procurement strategy and business development,” said Beck. “Our goal is to strategically serve our clients’ needs 12 months a year, not just when the legislature is in session.”
Under the direction of Claudia Davant, the NSI Florida Office was established to serve the fourth largest economy in the U.S. The office specializes in the public safety, technology, health care, transportation, education, energy and environment sectors as well as serving their clients needs before Florida’s vast local government market.
"Over the past two years, our Florida team signed over $300 million of new contracts for our clients,” said Diaz de la Portilla. “Beck’s strength in Medicaid, Technology, Health Care, Public Safety, and the inner workings of government will enhance our ability to help our clients achieve success in their efforts with the state.” “Robert has served Florida with distinction as a public administration professional skilled in the development of innovative solutions to complex public policy challenges. We are excited to have his unique expertise as a strategic part of our team.” said Ard.
