NSI Hires State Government Affairs Expert

Washington, D.C. — November 19, 2008 — National Strategies, LLC (NSI), a nationally recognized business-to-government consulting firm headquartered in Washington, DC, has hired Paul Richman as Vice President. In this new role, Richman will focus on expanding NSI’s state and local legislative and regulatory capabilities for its clients including companies, associations and not-for-profits.

Paul brings a wealth of insight and knowledge to NSI’s clients, and as we expand our legislative practice, his ability to assess complex issues and develop winning strategies will not only help clients survive, but also thrive in today’s market.”

Richman brings more than 20 years of experience within state and federal government and the private sector to NSI. Most recently, Richman built a state government affairs program during his employment with the Mortgage Bankers Association. Through his efforts, Richman is noted for his expertise in assessing potential legislative and regulatory threats and has a proven track record of formulating successful strategies to address complex and challenging legislative and regulatory issues that companies and industries face from state and local governments.

Additionally, Richman served in the Clinton-Gore Administration where he worked at the White House in the Office of the Vice President and in the Secretary of Labor’s policy office during the terms of Secretaries Robert B. Reich and Alexis M. Herman. Prior to his federal government service, Paul served in several senior policy-making positions in the administration of the former Governor of New York, Mario M. Cuomo including serving as the Special Counsel to the Director of Economic Development and Deputy Commissioner for Intergovernmental Coordination of the New York State Department of Economic Development.

As an active participant with the National Conference of State Legislators, National Governors Association, U.S. Conference of Mayors, National Association of Attorneys General, State Government Affairs Council and others, Richman will also continue to provide NSI clients with the ability to leverage resources provided by these organizations and advocate on their behalf.
